Staff

Halswell Residential College has a total staff of approximately 125 full time/part time positions. This staff is led by the Principal, assisted by the Director of Teaching and Learning and the college's Senior Leadership Team.

All staff are bound by a Code of Conduct/Code of Ethics.

There are four main staffing groups within the College:

Day School – Led by the Director of Teaching and Learning (Day School Principal);

This is staffed by Deputy Principal (Behaviour Support), Assistant Principal (Curriculum), Senior Teachers, Teachers, Teacher Assistants and Specialist Staff.

Specialists include: Clinical and Educational Psychologists, Speech Language Therapist, Music Therapist, College Nurse and an Occupational Therapist.

Residential School – Led by the Residential Managers;

There are three shifts operating, made up of a Duty Manager, Residential Social Workers, Assistant Residential Social Workers, Residential Assistants and Night Attendants.

A Residential Manager is on duty at all times to provide extra support as required.

General Services – Led by the Manager, General Services;

This group includes Laundry and Kitchen staff, Caretaker and Grounds staff and Cleaners.

All supported by our wonderful Administration Staff, (Executive Officer, Receptionist, Principal's PA, Residential Administrator and a Finance Clerk).

The Director of Teaching and Learning is regarded as a Principal, has the same statutory authority and responsibilities as the College Principal and will stand in for the Principal in his absence.
