Outdoor Education

Camps are an important part of any school.

Camps are an important part of any school. They foster independence, develop self esteem and extend self care skills.

Each boy will participate in at least one camp per year. These are usually over four nights and are either mountain based (Arthurs Pass, Boyle Lodge, Hanmer), or coastal (Living Springs, Wainui). Camps are staffed by Teachers, Residential Social Workers and Volunteers.

Christchurch is fortunate to have several ski fields within 1½ hours drive. Most boys will have the opportunity to ski up to three times per winter. For many boys this may be their best opportunity to participate in such a mountain activity.
