Site Sharing after the Earthquakes

We are now sharing our site with Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti and Discovery Schools.

As a result of the February Earthquake we are now sharing our site with Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti and Discovery Schools who were based in the Central City which is now part of the Red Zone.

This has meant big changes for us, these include having 10 relocatable classrooms behind the Villas, converting what was Linden Villa into a new Office Admin area which we are sharing with Unlimited. If visiting the College this is the first building on the left after you come through the gate.

Unlimited are using Mcrae and Rakaia Villas as teaching areas so our Residential Capacity has been reduced to a maximum of 36.  Unlimited are also using classrooms 1 and 2 which leaves us having Te Puna Wai, Kawatea, Rooms 7, 8 and 9 available along with Tauawa and Te Ara Villas.  With both Unlimited and Discovery not having a uniform the decision was made for our pupils to wear mufti in order that they do not stand out as different.

With the reduced roll here on site at HRC and a large number of pupils unable to attend College on site we have developed an outreach service Learning And Behaviour Support NZ (Click to visit the LABS Website)
