Home-School Contact

With many boys living far from home, regular contacts through letters and telephone calls are important and encouraged.

New students and parents are welcome to view the College and meet staff prior to enrolment. However, travel is at their own expense. The College will pay for transport of one parent (or their nominee) to Christchurch when their son begins College and accommodation will be provided in one of the College flats free of charge. Both parents/caregivers are welcome at enrolment and induction. Parents/caregivers are welcome to visit at any time of the College year, again at their own travel expense.

Once the student is attending, all formal contacts are to be made through the Principal. The Principal or Day School Principal will visit many areas throughout the country during the year. These visits usually involve Group Special Education office meetings, meetings with Resource Teachers: Learning & Behaviour (RTLBs), Regional Reps, other Accredited Fundholders and some Parents/Caregivers.

Liaison Teachers based in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin will have contact with Parents/Caregivers.
